Do Nintendo fans still get bullied in 2023?

I think Botw changed things for Nintendo in this regard. It was like the Wii of games, appealing to casual gamers and making Nintendo more likable. I now see Triforce decals on cars all over the place.

I think it really depends on the franchise.

Thinking back to my own school experience, I think Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon were always mainstream, even during the perceived casual years of the Wii and DS generation.

Other franchises were more derided especially the likes of Wii Fit, Wii Music, etc.

I think Nintendo has shed that perception with the wide variety of games available on Switch, and the fact that Switch's portability offers a different experience than the more traditional consoles of Playstation and Xbox.

Most of the ire towards Nintendo & its fans came from hardcore Sony and Microsoft fans in my day. It usually was just a fun rivalry, but that can metamorphosis into bullying.

it's gotta be smash bros. I don't think any other series has had so many death threats made to people over it.

In my experience middle school people don't like Nintendo because they want to be seen as more mature and then it chills out in high school.

Bulling is alive and well in all fandoms, including in Zelda. People like to roast others, its sadly probably the most quintessential aspect of being human. I wish it was love, but its not. Animals are more loving.
