There are some songs from games I played as a child that whenever I hear them, I am taken back to that time and feel very relaxed.

What are some songs that really bring you to a good place?

 

[Ronin]

Part of the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Lost Track, a collection of unused music. This remake of the original Eight Melodies (not nearly as great) is extremely tranquil, especially when the musicbox melody comes in.

Piece featuring an acoustic guitar all the way throughout, accompanied by the occasional violin and musicbox. Also has intermittent seagulls and people celebrating in the background.

Despite having a sorrowful edge, this piece is comforting in its own right, specifically when the soft choir and violins pick up.

Opposed to the softer themes above, the comforting qualities in this song are achieved by the bouncing rhythms interspersed throughout, making it uplifting in addition to placating.

The Rogueport theme from Paper Mario TTYD. This one always puts me in a good mood; although in some parts it shows the "ominous" feel of Rogueport, at the same time it feels adventurous and, well, comforting. Just makes me feel good. I don't know why, really.

From Pokemon XD : Gale of Darkness, the Relic Forest theme. Melancholic yet peaceful, and it's amazing.

Also from XD, the Heroic Theme. Upbeat and uplifting, one that will put me in the perfect mood.

Colony 9 theme from Xenoblade. Well, first off, I can applaud that this theme is calmer than the more adventurous Guar Plains theme. This is for a good reason. Some songs in videogames are great, like Dragon Roost Island theme from Wind Waker, but I don't feel like they fit the location or event enough. For Dragon Roost's case, the song feels too adventurous for a mostly calming island, where a more relaxed theme would be preferred. This isn't a huge deal, since it's still an awesome theme, but it did make me scratch my head a bit.
For the Colony 9 theme, it's more relaxed because it's smaller, closer to home than Guar Plains is. It's the difference of exploring that forest in your backyard to exploring a freaking rainforest in the Amazon. If that was a good enough comparison.
As for the theme itself, it's wonderful. The instruments are lovely and immerse me into the location, make me feel like I really am part of the world. I especially love the awesome strumming of the guitars <3

This is my favorite track in any game. It's just sums up my experience with one of my favourite games of all time. It's around a 12 minute long track, which is orchestrated to near perfection. It's calm, motivational, mellow, epic, inspirational etc. The track takes you on a journey, and that's what Zelda is all about, an adventure. As soon as I hear this track it takes me back around 7 years and to a game which I loved.

This track is from one of my favourite kids as a kid, Croc. I must have played this game when I was around 4 or 5 and it's one of the first games I remember playing. This is probably the reason why I love it so much; it takes me back to a simple time, one where I thought this game was the greatest thing ever and nothing can change that. The track is so cheerful, up beat as well as relaxing.

Probably one of the most iconic opening themes of all time. This track is just so soothing yet so epic as well; it's a perfect fit for one of the greatest games of all time.

I listen to this song whenever I feel sad because I want to fell something other than the pain I feel from life; I want to feel the pain of the music, the sadness and the emptiness of the Zones, the meaning of the Batter's pilgrimage, and what it all means to me.

It might not seem relaxing, but it holds a lot of memories and I love it so much. It comforts me with those memories and helps me sleep, if that makes any sense.
