Collecting Materials in Other Games

Breath of The Wild let you collect tons of stuff, whether it was monster parts, or mushrooms, or whatever.

Games like SS and WW let you do that too, but on a much smaller scale. Did you like that small scale, or would you prefer they left that out altogether?

Where is the NO NO @#$%ING NO!! AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHYYYYY???? option?

This is yet another trend that finds itself seeping into every other game like an std- for no other reason than most game devs haven't ever experienced an independent thought.

It's just another pointless collect-a-thon for the sake of some inane crafting system made to pad out a game that's already full of tedium and unoriginality.

Remember when games like Ocarina of Time were great before this material collect-a-thon was mandatory for every PINON WHARRLD!!!11 adventure? Does anyone really find this entertaining? Just think of all the hours of your earthly existence you've wasted on this b*tchwork. We are all of us closer to death this very moment having spent whole hours of our limited lifespans gathering thousands of things we would not only never give the time of day, but more often than not will actively avoid in real life!!!

I really enjoy collecting items, but having that tie into the completion percentage like the Korok Seeds is pretty daunting. I'd rather do collections for getting rare items or weapons. If the reward for doing all of the shrines or seeds was the magical armor from TP, that'd be worth it. However a big turd is pretty..****ty.
