New area's obviously. I'm sick of seeing the same area's over and over again. Just because the same town, or area has the same and has a different landscape doesn't make it "A new area", just remodeled for that version. (EX: Karkiaro Village, Lost Woods, Faron Woods, Hyrule Castle, etc.) It's quite boring. If they do something as creative as Twilight Realm from Twilight Princess, then I'll be happy.
I'm not saying a modified version of the classic makes it new just that the war mentioned in OoT hasn't happened yet so wouldn't there be more life in the classic areas.

A mix would be good. It would be cool to see the origin of the Temple of Time since we will be seeing the origin of the Master Sword. I'm sure Kakariko will return, but I hope its better then the TP one, which was a huge disappointment. Nothing to do at all.

Having the classic areas return would be really nice and it would bring back good memories <3 I think they definetely should include JUST A FEW (not all of them) classic areas, but they definetely need some new areas in there. Skyloft will be a new area and I'm excited to see it. Link starts out living in Skyloft, but he does go down to Hyrule as the plot of the game. I wonder if Hyrule will look similar to the Hyrules in old games? What if the Hyrule we see in SS is nothing new, it's as the Hyrule Town in OoT or MC or another game? I don't know, I'm really excited to find out though. I'm curious. :D

I would say both (if that's an option.) But the classic areas like Death Mountain, Kakariko village, lake hylia, lon lon ranch or even Zoras Domain could have a different name and could explain how it got the name. and for the new areas there could be a new area in a classic area. for example the graveyard had a hidden lake behind iit in tp

I don't mind seeing the same "areas" in each new game as they're tailor made to fit the setting with each game. Usually they're representations of the elements for example Zora's Domain, Lake Hylia (Water, Lakebed temples etc..) I'd be just as happy with all new areas as well just as long as there was enough variety between them. Remember that in Wind Waker, just about everything was new except for Hyrule at the bottom of the ocean.

I personally would like to see a mixture of both new and old areas. I would also enjoy seeing old areas but with a different spin on them. Like say Link has to go to Lake Hylia but when you get there it is completely corrupted by evil and monsters. IDK something along those lines.

Agreed, I want as many new areas as possible. Why would you buy the game if all you do is visit the same places? Give us a new city, lake, forest, or rather, completely different area's like in MM, just don't give us just Kakariko, Death Mountain and Lake Hylia AGAIN. I don't see why people want Zelda to stay in the past when it could be so much more interesting and exciting when there's a whole new land, or at least area's, to explore (without losing it's feel).

Of course, references are always fun, just don't overdo it. A little bit less than WW would be good.

I like how they took an area, and while it was obvious it was the same area, (which keeps the sense of familiarity), but makes it something new. Windfall island wasnt TOO much like Kakariko, but it was a nice, familiar place. Would this be acceptable to those who want new places?

I was thinking the same thing as the Forbidden Forest in WW was very similar to the Forest Temple. So I'm guessing that if Skyward Sword contains all new areas, many of them will bear similarities to previous areas that we're all familiar with.

I think I should've been clearer in my previous post. It's not like I hate to see the same old area's, I just want them to be different enough to still be exciting. I want them to be so different that it's not obvious anymore it's the same place, but there being some minor references which point out that place may or may not be the same.
Actually, Wind Waker is a perfect example of how I feel SS should be. Granted, some area's maybe used to be the same as in other games, but they were very different. Different enough to call them new places, imo. They also had a very different feel to them, which I loved. For example, Forest Haven was the home of the Koroks, but to me it felt very different from Kokiri Forest. Even better example, Dragon Roost, with the Volvagia paintings in the cavern. That was awesome.

I would like to see both. I would like to see the Lost Woods, Death Mountain, and Lake Hylia return, but I would like some new places, like a city for the Sheikah, or a new snowy/icy region.
