Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl: Which Starter?

For those who will be picking up a copy of Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, which starter will you be picking?

Pokémon Diamond was the first Pokémon game I played all the way through and the starter I picked back then was Chimchar. Ever since I have always picked the fire starter and I’ll keep that tradition going by picking Chimchar once again this time.

Piplup was my original starter and a rare female one as well, I named her Star. I will be soft resetting to get one again for Brilliant Diamond.

I actually hadn't thought this far ahead but, I think... I may go turtwig. I do quite like torterra's World Turtle aesthetic, and it's been awhile since I've last gone with a grass starter.

I don't know if I'll play it anytime soon, if I do, I'll go for piplup again like in platinum, purely b/c piplup was in brawl

I went for Turtwig back in the day. I'm choosing Piplup this time around.

I preordered Brilliant Diamond today. I am planning on Piplup mostly due to it being a penguin but also like the idea of having a steel type final evolution. I have heard the argument against it being that there are an abundance of options for water pokemon relative to grass or especially fire, but I usually don't mind having multiple water types on a single team. I have never played Gen 4 before.
