The most recent one I can think of is Assassination Classroom, both the Manga and Anime. That entire second to last episode was just sad to watch.

When Goku sacrifices himself near the end of the battle against Cell... That moment brought a tear to my eyes.
But the one that always gets me is when Ash leaves his Butterfree... It's so sad.... Made me cry as a child, makes me cry now...

Of course. I am easily absorbed into the worlds created by anime. When the main character experiences loss, I tend to feel the same way and then I cry it's as simple as that.
