There are a few spots on the timeline that can't have a game or one game must be after this one ect. So here are the timeline laws.
1. No game with Link can take place between Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker because Link is on the Child Timeline and in the begining of The Wind Waker it said no hero came when Ganon came back meaning the Hero of Time and his decendants cannot be on the Adult Timeline and therefore cannot be in the 100 year gap between OoT and TWW.
2. Zelda II must be directly after The Legend of Zelda, that doesn't require explanation, because everybody already knows that.
3. Zelda I and II must take place on the Child Timeline because they come after ALttP which cannot be on the Adult Timeline because of the Master Sword.
