Seems Nintendo is sticking by their "No VC for the DSi" comments for now. They just answered a question on IGN about it, and they are either giving a runaround fake answer so they can make an official announcement at a later date to surprise everyone, or they are just not that bright in seeing...

Sorry, but this is not an official announcement. Nintendo has yet to announce any virtual console downloadable games to the DSi. The image above is a fan-made graphic. It would be nice to have happen though, since there's so many retro games on the Wii to enjoy, but it's not happening yet.

I think it's just a quick photoshop job actually. If you do a Google image search for "Link's Awakening" the 3rd image that pops up is this exact screen shot. The photo of the DSi looks like one of those promo photography images.

There's no Virtual Console retro games yet, but I think it's a natural move. I'm really surprised they didn't announce the retro downloads at E3 this year. Right now, it's only new titles. And there's not that many of them. And they're not very good necessarily... I never owned a DS...
