There's a handful of points like that where everything is just kinda peaceful
You're definitely expected to slow down and just comb over all the neat islands searching for triforce shards (and being glad you don't have to shell out 4000 rupees to get them translated by tingle anymore)
TOTOK is not only the most memorable thing from phantom hourglass for me I also loved every minute of it and went in when I didnt need to just to find faster routes
the art direction is definitely one of the highlights. When I was playing on my old 45 inch tv it was sometimes all too easy to forget the game was 480p just because of how holistic the art was
it's pretty hard to see what's actually going on for about a third of the game in the wii version on account of the darkness, low polygon count, low resolution, and obstructive particle effects
skyward sword has one of the best stories in zelda as well, so if you enjoy the stories as much as I do (part of why I appreciate wind waker so much is because of how well developed the story is) then you should be willing to put up with the more negative aspects of the game for sure
I also...
it's good compared to non-zelda games
the wii u version cleans up the visuals a lot as well, but it seems like you don't have a wii u otherwise I feel like you would have gone for the HD versions of these games :p
personally, I think the motion controls are much better than the button controls
the problem is twilight princess was made for the gamecube first so the button mapping doesn't work great on a wii remote imo
skyward sword however goes all in on motion controls to the point where some consider...
I don't think it's fair to judge content comparisons since botw is a much bigger game; when you compare botw's content to wrpgs that came out 5+ years before it botw comes away lacking, but I def agree that wind waker's artistic choices paid off, making it visually ageless
well if you're familiar with the speedrun (I wouldn't be surprised if you are) you'll know that the entire fight length is determined by RNG, so it's possible in the past you've had great patterns, whereas this time around you had to wait a lot longer
I had lots of fun with Minish Cap. It's not the best zelda game by a longshot, but it's very charming and capcom did an excellent job on it all things considered
The game has maps for that! Next time you play by yourself, draw up a map to take notes on and list each heart piece in its location as you find it, then compare once you've found the island hearts chart
