Breath of the Wild So... What's the Twist? (on the Open World)

My guess is, that Aunoma wants to prepare fans for an somewhat unpopular gameplay mechanic. Something that is considered restricting the Open Word aspect of the game. But honestly I think it absolutely needs some sort of restricting. Otherwise it would encourage people to wander around all day...

Breath of the Wild Do You Think The Nonlinearity Will Lead to a More Side Quest Focused Game?

I absolutely think, that we are going to see several side quests. There are lots of locations visible in the trailer. Traveling to some points without finding anything would be disappointing, whereas finding people or whatever in need, so you could help them (=side quests) is kind of rewarding...

Breath of the Wild I Remember These Rumors and There Might Be Some Truth to Them...

wiiudaily posted these rumors in 2012: http://wiiudaily.com/2012/09/wii-u-zelda-game-coming-2014/ In summary they stated the following: - updated Skyward Sword graphics (because it would appeal to both casual and core gamers) - biggest team to date working on Zelda Wii U (comparable to...

Breath of the Wild You Can Make Your Own Choices in Zelda Wii U and Make the Story Your B****

Thanks! But what do you guys think about those little story elements, in which you have to decide, are you going to help character a or creature b, because the problem is too complex to solve both problems. I think, Aonuma indicated that he wants to expand on this idea, giving you a choice and...

Breath of the Wild You Can Make Your Own Choices in Zelda Wii U and Make the Story Your B****

At first a source: http://www.gonintendo.com/s/231010-aonuma-talks-about-story-freedom-in-zelda-u I guess this confirms, that we are going to see much more stories like the one in Skyward Sword. There could even be more paths to those stories. It felt so awesome giving this love letter...

Breath of the Wild Links Cloak Deserves Its Own Thread, Right?

There are at least three farmers in the trailer alongside with several goats. Everyone runs away, the second the monster awakes. But Link (or the identity that the cloak indicates) seems to be the only one (or thing), that gets its attention.

Breath of the Wild Tech Demo Vs Actual Style

I feel like the developers ask themselves, what's possible in this kind of world. I'm sorry for all those quirky things that just don't match a style like that presented in the tech demo. In a fantastic setting, there are less boundaries. I love the hand in the toilet, hang gliding a magic leaf...

Breath of the Wild Tech Demo Vs Actual Style

I happen to have problems understanding your point of view. The one correlation I created between the Zelda games and real life experiences is a childish desire for adventures: discovering a cave through the eyes of a child, growing to be a hero of some kind. Other then that, I couldn't think of...

Breath of the Wild Links Cloak Deserves Its Own Thread, Right?

The mechanical monster in the trailer seems to be hunting Link. Those other persons in the trailer don't get its attention. Either Links cloak doesn't work out this time as a way of being incognito, or he put on the cloak intentionally to get the monsters attention. Link could be the hunter in...

Breath of the Wild Horseback in Zelda U - Emphasis and Improvements

Suggestions are pretty fun to be made, but there is a slim chance of this turning out the way you would prefer. I don't think, they would loose focus on the horse riding or ditch the idea all together. At least the trailer didn't imply that. A big world needs a method of faster traveling in my...

Breath of the Wild Tech Demo Vs Actual Style

This is - again - a matter of opinion. I don't have any problems being convinced by those leafs and trees in the trailer. And those lightning effects! But I guess you need to "like" a style in order to feel immersed into a gaming world. Guess I'm lucky. Ganonking is right on a technical level...

Breath of the Wild Tech Demo Vs Actual Style

Yeah, it seems as if Ver-go-a-go-go and me are on opposite sites of the spectrum in this case. But I have to say this: In my perception this new style is more similar to Ocarina of Time then Twilight Princess is to Ocarina of Time. OoT isn't that "realistic", it just had realistic body size ratios.

Breath of the Wild Links Cloak Deserves Its Own Thread, Right?

The cloak has been a point of discussion, mainly because of its pattern. It's not that easy to classify it and this is really interesting in my opinion. The other thing that tickles my brain is, is that this cloak could be the nearest thing to a return of the mask system from Majora's Mask we...

Breath of the Wild Tech Demo Vs Actual Style

I never really expected the style to be like in the tech demo. It sure looked like a lot of polygons, but there wasn't anything new about it. I was bored actually. Twilight Princess taught me a lesson. I was really looking forward playing this game ever since its unveiling at the e3 in 2004...

Breath of the Wild Zelda U and the GamePad

Nintendo will probably use some of those things introduced in Wind Waker HD, but I am pretty sure (like PalaeoJoe said before) that the Zelda team wants to make a game, that is truly only possible on Wii U. Map and inventory on the GamePad isn't revolutionary at all. I guess, we will at least...
