Well, Inspiration doesn't necessarily mean unoriginal. Example:

Spelberg took huge inspiration from John Ford (the one in my avatar) but his work is similar in almost nothing. It's more about the kind of ideas somebody else's work inspires in yours, not necessarily taking them.

Great choices, by the way. Especially Nolan (one of the best relative newcomers of the industry).

Oh, you're right, silly me. Filmmaker, eh? We've been having some of those. I used to be interested in film myself. Any inspirations?
