I call myself a Zelda fan. No cheap names, just a genuine Zelda fanatic. :lemmy:

Zelda fans. Because we're not stupid enough to need to invent a new word for every goddamn thing when there are perfectly functional words in the english language that already exist.

As far as I know, Zelda fans don't have an official fandom term to describe themselves. Most tend to introduce themselves as fans of Zelda or some variant, but then again, most (if not all of them) fans of Nintendo and their IPs don't have have a fandom name.

That's along the lines I was thinking, but It'll still be fun to have an official name.

Zelda fan. Anything more ends up sounding lame or being used as an epithet.

Like 'Bronies.' Initially used as a simplistic collective term for some guys who liked MLP. Now often used as a pejorative for these same guys, considered weirdos who collect plastic pastel-colored ponies and masturbate to crudely drawn pony porn. Are they all like that? No. Most just like the cartoon (and collect ponies) and don't do stuff like that. But somehow the main fandom got associated with a small segment called 'Cloppers' who actually do tickle the pickle to cartoon ponies.

Thus why 'Zelda fan' sounds better, and doesn't have the 'Still living in muh momma's basement' that some of the more 'cutesy' nicknames sometimes bring to mind.

@At first post- Star Wars fans aren't called 'Jedi' they are called 'Warsies.' ;)

No but seriously, I don't think humanity names anything it is sorta hoping will sink back into the primordial ooze from which it stepped.
