Obviously its a mini-boss. IT seems to have no purpose. After you wait the battle resumes, which would point out that there would be a pause when you hit it. It seems not to be hard to knock it off, and then the "begone" seems to hint that it can blow you away... Found in a place with no walls? That's difficult.

This is a stretch, but is it Dead Hand?

So for whatever reason I'm just gonna go the Demon Train from Spirit Tracks, though I actually haven't played the game and whether or not you class the Demon Train as a Mini-Boss
