Soldier for Christ!
Hey, I've been expanding on my writing interests and have gotten into the art of poetry. I'll admit most of my stuff is pathetic but I feel poetry comes from the heart, and speaks volumes if you can find the meaning. It may rhyme or it may not, all that matters is what the poet feels while writing it, and that is what puts life into the work. So, here's some poetry from Rainy, enjoy reading it or don't enjoy, I know I enjoyed writing it. =)
This is a poem I dedicate to my little sister, whom I love very much, and I wrote this about a year ago when I hurt her.
Something I wrote for the new year of 2013.
The New Year
One year come and gone,
And what have you done?
You’ve squandered your time,
And the gifts that you had.
What’s left is a dime,
Of the things that were bad.
How lovely you treat,
This upcoming year.
You’ll take up your seat,
And have some good cheer.
But it wasn’t the same,
It wasn’t even real.
It’ll be a real shame,
While they eat their meal.
You’ll sit there and watch;
They’ll be joyful and happy,
Whilst you light like a match.
They’ll never notice,
How you weren’t there.
They’ll ignore your very presence,
And go on to not care.
The time that you’ve spent,
Sitting alone,
Is the time you resent,
When you could have been known.
To be known as a myth,
Is to be killed with a cyth.
To be forgotten by all,
Is to be born not at all.
Wasting your time,
To end up like this;
Doesn’t feel like a crime,
Until they all miss.
When you squandered your time,
You didn’t realize,
That it is like a crime,
To be unwise.
With that thought in mind,
I hope you will see,
That there isn’t much time,
To reach the top of the tree.
Something I wrote because I felt aflame with the Holy Spirit!
Soldiers in Christ
Awake to another day,
The pain and the misery;
That’s all I ever feel,
Because you’re not very real.
When I go to my prison,
The one they call school;
I do my daily mission,
And try to follow the rules.
But what is the point?
To get bullied and scolded;
To have my life molded,
To what they call right.
I’m a Soldier of Christ!
I’ll fight for the Lord!
To make my life right,
I’ll rally the world;
For Soldiers of Christ!
After the day is all done,
I’ve still got some work;
I’ll work to the bone,
With chores and homework.
My chores are all done,
And my homework set aside.
My siblings have fun,
Whilst my dread must subside.
But what is the point?
To do work and be angry;
To waste all my energy,
For what they call right.
I’m a Soldier of Christ!
I’ll fight for the Lord!
To make my life right,
I’ll rally the world;
For Soldiers of Christ!
Now the day is done,
And I kneel for my prayers.
I ask only once,
Why don’t you answer my prayer?
Then the Lord spoke,
And he simply said to me;
That he does not provoke,
The anger inside of me.
He wants me to love,
And to go on with life.
He wants me to move,
The mountains of strife.
He said this to me,
“Be a Soldier of Christ.
And then you shall see,
The reward is so nice.”
It came to me then,
That I know I must be,
God’s very best friend;
And then I will see.
I’m a Soldier of Christ!
I’ll fight for the Lord!
To make my life right,
I’ll rally the world.
I’ll fight with the world,
And rally up hope;
For my light and my Lord,
I’ll follow the Pope.
I’ll fight for the Lord!
As a Soldier of Christ!
I wrote this when I felt I had really screwed up, but it allows me to look back on my faults and learn from them. I can smile at my past, believe it or not! Because I can see what I did wrong, knowing that I was being silly and stupid, and make myself better for the present and the future.
I Mucked it Up
I failed at making you happy
I failed at being a friend
I screwed up bringing you joy
I mucked up the time that we spent
It isn’t fair to you
That I had to ruin it all
I did it out of the blue
And didn’t think about you at all
I wasted your time
And I can’t even rhyme
But I want you to know
I’m sorry for my actions
They were thoughtless like snow
And I want to go back
I’ve done a terrible wrong
One I shouldn’t have done
It’s hurt you a lot
So if you like let me rot
I’ll do what I can
To make it all right
Just tell me right now
What you want me to write
So that's Rainy's lame poetry, I'll be updating this more as I have some other poems on my laptop. =P
This is a poem I dedicate to my little sister, whom I love very much, and I wrote this about a year ago when I hurt her.
This Veil of Tears
This veil of tears,
Be it anger or sorrow;
Has strengthened my fears,
Of broken friendships tomorrow.
Friendships are broken,
When you quarrel about nothing.
But friendships are strengthened,
When your love bond means something.
The decency to say sorry,
To say I forgive you;
Is just a special way,
To say I love you.
So to say I am sorry,
Is to say that I love you.
To say I forgive you,
Is to say I’m your friend.
This veil of tears,
Be it anger or sorrow;
Has strengthened my fears,
Of broken friendships tomorrow.
