Are The Zonai a Beneficial Addition to the Series?

I invite you to take a second look. The Nation we explore the ruins of throughout Skyward Sword. Ruins in Minish Cap where the Wind tribe are said to have moved from. The entire Hyrule Kingdom in Wind Waker. The sky people connected to the Tower of the Gods in Wind Waker (though this one may be...

Are The Zonai a Beneficial Addition to the Series?

Wow. I guess that precludes every other time the franchise included an ancient lost civilization. Of the top of my head, that's Skyward Sword, Minish Cap, Wind Waker, Spirit tracks, Majora's Mask, possibly Link to the Past, and likely Twilight princess. Do the abandoned Sheikah sites after...

Are The Zonai a Beneficial Addition to the Series?

Casual conversations are not the bounds of interesting story. How would you suggest making use of inspiration derived from one of these lost civilizations?

What is the origin of the mysterious rudimentary Royal Crest found throughout the Zelda series?

It's only the case that Thyphlo ruins were not built by the Zonai. The others still retain likely connections with the Zonai, and the three labyrinths are, as far as I know, confirmed to be Zonai. With the ruins being built by ancient Hylians to honor the Zonai, it makes sense that they would...

What is the origin of the mysterious rudimentary Royal Crest found throughout the Zelda series?

While I don't see the Zonai connection here, I think that the best game theories come about when looking into things "too far," then taking it further. Lay your reasoning on me, and don't spare the rabbit trails.

Are The Zonai a Beneficial Addition to the Series?

I'm hoping that the symbol is replicated by the Zonai, just as the Sheikah after them. I'm hoping that Hylia, and the other three goddesses, were not Zonai, and implanting the third eye is not where the symbolism began, in universe. But, it is a possibility that they may be Zonai, at this point...

Are The Zonai a Beneficial Addition to the Series?

The games literally tell us, even shows us, that the Ancient Shiekah were connected to the Zonai. I absolutely love what we did get with the Twili, but it's only one game, and there's no connection to them in the world of Hyrule. We have to be told about the Twili's history. We can't see the...

Are The Zonai a Beneficial Addition to the Series?

I would say that the Zonai have the most depth we have seen in a group added to the series, upon their first game, so far. As far as the other introductions go, we may get an explanation that the people have always been around (or that they used to be another group), and we may or may not see...

    Who created the labyrinths?

I feel like many of the discussions about the dragons miss/side-step the existence of numerous dragon remains we can find throughout the game.

    Spoiler Farosh, Naydra, and Dinnral...Zonai!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I would prefer that to the ending we did get. I also appreciate the fact that Zelda is a big part of the Zelda series, and that the public really likes their happy endings. With a third game to fix Zelda, it would make everyone work for it, rather than having it handed to us. Insert the "Because...

    Spoiler Farosh, Naydra, and Dinnral...Zonai!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I agree with you on this one. I think there should have been a whole third game. End TotK with Zelda trapped as a dragon. Let us feel that sacrifice. Then, open the next game with a reveal that there just might be a way, which leads Link on a whole journey to bring Zelda back. There could even...

Are The Zonai a Beneficial Addition to the Series?

I've seen many people lament Ghost Rauru not sticking around to be a kind of companion, just hanging around different locations, like in the beginning, ready to give comment about his memories.

Are The Zonai a Beneficial Addition to the Series?

Just a typo. I'll go back and fix it. The Oocca never sat well, in the world, though. They are posed as builders of advanced technology, and prolific builders, yet they never seem to use that tech, and the structures they supposedly built are made for larger people than themselves. And, just...

Are The Zonai a Beneficial Addition to the Series?

I think the Zonai do add to the lore. More than that, I think the Zonai positively adds to lore that has been building for a while. Many games reference a mysterious sky people and a civilization that predates the history of the game in question. The creators have been playing with the idea for...

Yet Another TotK Timeline Placement Theory

I suppose the idea that Rauru's Hyrule is the nation that predates Skyward Sword isn't common enough to register, yet. As I see it, the creators already told us that the new games, BotW/TotK, are separated; by time. They specifically wanted us to fit the games in the timeline we saw most...

    The City in the Sky

I suppose that's where I feel my approach to the Zoni, and how I think they connect to previous games is different from some. I start by looking for as direct of comparisons as possible, and work out from there. I don't simply use the Zoni as a brand of caulking, designed to fill gaps of any...

Ocarina of Time Link and Zelda are siblings?!

To be fair, I personally thought the idea was dead when I started the thread, but posted it anyway, to get more perspectives, like this one, so I was not disappointed.

    Which Is Worse?

I also don't have an issue with either. Neither do I think the Downfall Timeline is a throw away junk drawer for the older games. I think there important lore implications about the three timelines, and how they compare.

    Weird Deku Tree Realization

That's why I referred to them as large talking trees. They could be the same species, with Deku and Maku being more name. Or, they may be different. I do think there is more of a connection between the Maku Trees and the Deku Tree, then with any of the other Deku creatures.

    Weird Deku Tree Realization

It doesn't necessarily place the games in one particular timeline. We see far too much to contradict one timeline placement. We are also told (in Creating a Champion, I think) that the current Great Deku Tree was conceived as a tree that grew near the Master Sword, and was changed by the Sword's...

I would personally like that, but I doubt it. I think, based on the build up around the Ancient Hero, his game is more likely. At this point, though, it's too early to tell what direction they will finally settle on. I have my fingers crossed for the current Link exploring somewhere off the...

What's Up with Stone Tower Temple?

Interestingly, this gets brought up in theories about Termina and Lorule being connected. Perhaps, and this is mostly just speculation, the tower is where Lorule kept their Triforce. The Triforce symbolisim would have been part of the origional design, with the blasphemous imagery added later...

What's Up with Stone Tower Temple?

Quite a while back, now, I postulated that the desert was part of Hyrul's realm (deep in the Gerudo desert somewhere or even more off the map), and that the Garo were a subgroup of the Sheikah, tasked with stopping the invasion from Termina's side of the portal. The theory included the Masked...

An argument as to why I believe OoT and TotK Ganondorf to be one in the same.

This is a very good point. I feel like I should have caught this detail sooner. I personally think the ears are due to genetics. Basically, as the Gerudo choose mates from Hylians, the ears become pointed, though choosing other humans (such as the round eared humans we see in Twilight...

Was Hylia "Zonai" and Died "Naturally" Reincarnating as "The First Queen Of Hyrule" Sonia.

While other races become main stay, and references of them can even be found in games they don't appear. We've see references to a mysterious, highly advanced, sky people for ages. It would be nice to see that flag finally get planted, going further.
  29. Ryuu Kage Desu

Was Hylia "Zonai" and Died "Naturally" Reincarnating as "The First Queen Of Hyrule" Sonia.

I think this would be just as bad. Just like the Oocca, Minish, Yeti, and all of the other intelligent, seemingly important, races simply walking backwards into the bushes.

    The City in the Sky

I'm personally leaning towards Zoni in origin. Then used by humans, SS, the Wind Tribe, MC, then the Oocca, TP. Each modifying the sky Island(s), and up keeping them in turn. I do seem to remember a theory kicked around that the Wind Tribe became the Oocca. Based on what we see with Tulin's...

Was Hylia "Zonai" and Died "Naturally" Reincarnating as "The First Queen Of Hyrule" Sonia.

The only thing I am seeing in the Zelda Wiki, is Zelda being listed as a descendant (which the story basically hands to us) and Zelda listed as ancestress, with a reference to Hyrule Historia page 77. I think someone wanting to push the theory that Rauru's reign took place between SS and MC is...

Is the Temple of Time in Twilight Princess a different one from the one in Ocarina of Time?

When Link pulls the Master Sword, Ganondorf states, "You have led me to the gates of the Sacred Realm..." Nothing about pulling the sword for him. The only thing he was concerned about being unlocked was the Door of Time. By his own gloating statement, he was only concerned with getting to the...

Was Hylia "Zonai" and Died "Naturally" Reincarnating as "The First Queen Of Hyrule" Sonia.

I am of two minds on this. I don't want the goddesses to be Zoni, but the door is open. It's not the first time I have seen this theory, and I think it has more to do with reading between the lines, at this point, than hard facts. Despite the naysayers, I fear this may very well be the direction...

Is the Master Sword Zonai made?

I can't speak for the moderation team, or any one other than myself. My advice is that this is an issue best handled between the two of you; seeking to first understand where the other is coming from. But, that's just my two cents.
  35. Ryuu Kage Desu

Ocarina of Time Link and Zelda are siblings?!

Oh, I have stated from the beginning that the theory is based on little evidence, and that there are better explanations for that evidence. I'm not arguing that the person is wrong in their end conclusion. As far as I can tell, we even have the same end conclusion. It's that the person is...

Ocarina of Time Link and Zelda are siblings?!

In other words, you don't understand the basis of the theory, so you mock it, and you shouldn't be taken seriously. Got it.
  37. Ryuu Kage Desu

Ocarina of Time Link and Zelda are siblings?!

If that wasn't evidence for the idea, that you were arguing against, then you couldn't have provided evidence against the idea. Don't you keep saying that theories can't be used to prove theories. Then theories can't be used to disprove theories.
  38. Ryuu Kage Desu

Okay, so, you would rather ignore other people's points. Got it. There is more that has been stated. Don't cherry pick one fact that's been offered, then act like the whole theory hinges on that. In the origional post, I basically listed all the information I could find at the moment, then...

Ocarina of Time Link and Zelda are siblings?!

You should address each point that has been given in this thread, then tell us how each has nothing to do with the theory, and couldn't be used to support the theory. Then, I will entertain the idea that the theory has no support. I agree, though that's not my main reason for not liking the...
  42. Ryuu Kage Desu

Ocarina of Time Link and Zelda are siblings?!

If the game literally stated as much, there would be proof. We don't have proof. We can agree with that. But, ignoring that information exists, simply because you don't like the theory, is bad form. It's okay to accept that a theory has some validity while also stating there is not enough...

TOTK Ganondorf and OOT Ganondorf cannot be the same

Keeping in mind that we don't know how the curse functions, at a technical level. If FSA Ganondorf is any indication, the curse takes hold of existing people, rather than creating people. Fi confirms the destruction of Demise's soul. And, the fact that the curse was enacted in the distant...
  45. Ryuu Kage Desu

Ocarina of Time Link and Zelda are siblings?!

No, I think it's the perfect word. "Proof" would be the strong word. We have enough in game facts to back up the validity of the idea (evidence). Proof is what the theory doesn't have, but most theories don't have any actual proof.

But, how did she go about it?
  47. Ryuu Kage Desu

For speculation, all anyone needs is a single detail. I may not be a fan of this theory, but it is still a theory based on in game evidence.

Is the Master Sword Zonai made?

As side from a theory about the Wind Waker version, yes. All Master Swords are the same. There's a lot to dive into about the idea that Hylia made it. It could be a commission deal, where it's more like she had it made. It could be that she magicked it into existence. It could be that she did...

TOTK Ganondorf and OOT Ganondorf cannot be the same

I have to agree with the trident idea. It's more fitting for the type of wound. Ganondorf did have a battle where a trident was involved, right before he was sealed. Demise has always been a separate entity from Ganondorf, linked primarily by the curse.
