Zeldathon Stream for Charity
Posted on July 11 2014 by Jeffrey Edelstein
Just yesterday, a group of dedicated Zelda fans sat down for a marathon gaming session for the greater good. While we all scramble to check out the latest news on Hyrule Warriors, these gamers are on an adventure through the well-tread grounds of Ocarina of Time and other series hits, and much more is on the line than the fate of Hyrule.
Through the past eleven iterations of this event, the Zeldathoners have raised money for a number of worthwhile causes, from diabetes research to cancer research, with the total amount of donations exceeding $215,000. This particular stream is raising money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, an institution dedicated to treating children with cancer and other deadly diseases with the best of care.
To make the stream more engaging for viewers at home, certain goals are set for various donation milestones that will change the way the games are played. The stream is scheduled to last for six days, ending on Wednesday July 16, and as of this writing, it has raised nearly $13,000.
Are you planning on donating? Maybe you’d just like to see tune in for your favorite game.
