Another Zelda Williams interview has surfaced and in this one it has her talking about how she has always been close to video games. She says it was a way that her and her family bonded with each other. Video games also gave her parents the inspiration to call her Zelda after the Princess Zelda and call her younger brother Cody after a character in Final Fight. Here is an excerpt of those particular parts of the interview.

“Yes, my brother, mother and father named me after the game, and my little brother (Cody) is named after a character in Final Fight I believe,” Zelda tells mX.

“I consider us lucky though: we both love our names and, thankfully, neither of us ended up as Chun-Li or Captain Falcon.”

With an avid gamer for a father, the Nintendo was never too far from the hands of the Williams’ children. While other families played Scrabble or snakes and ladders, the Williams clan bonded by playing the Nintendo 64 classic GoldenEye 007 together.

I find it really awesome that Zelda bonded with her family over video games. That’s how me and my siblings bond. We play games with each other and watch each other play games that we’re really good at. Now if only my parents would get in on it…
