It’s a new year, and a new challenge awaits Mases and Gooey in another installment of Twilight Princess Zelda Warfare. After another roll at Rollgoal last episode, this chilly January sets them in the equally chilly Peak Province region for a much more traditional challenge: who can get to Snowpeak Ruins first?

Both contenders began at the first moment you enter the province just before meeting Ashei in search for the mysterious Yeti plaguing Zora’s Domain. With sketch in hand, both had to get the Reekfish and make their way up the cliffside as fast possible, stopping to get the Howling Stone along the way. After six wins in a row for Gooey, it’s starting to look a little grim for Mases’ chances at winning the war, but he seems rather confident in his performance this episode and for the challenge overall. Check out the video above to see if his conviction holds true!

Hilariously enough, Mases and Gooey take a brief moment this episode to call back to their Arbiter’s Grounds challenge and their musings about the ska skateboard soundtracks of the 90’s. The two even go so far as to suggest a new companion to Link’s Crossbow Training in the form of “Link’s Downhill Jam” featuring kicking dad-rock jams and powdery slopes. Link has yet to make a premiere in a sports-themed title, but you know, if it was gonna be any sport, I think I’d be okay with it being snowboarding. With his shield surfing antics in Breath of the Wild, it makes sense more than anything else.

What are your thoughts on the challenge? Should Nintendo green-light Link’s Downhill Jam without hesitation? Let us know in the comments below, and make sure to subscribe to the Zelda Dungeon YouTube channel for more Zelda Warfare!
