Zelda Reference on How I Met Your Mother

In the recent season finale episode of the sitcom How I Met Your Mother there was a quick but noticeable reference to the original Legend of Zelda displayed. The scene is about ten minutes into the episode and only shows a very brief few seconds of gameplay. Within the scene the character Marshall was drunk and in need of a cab ride home so he uses an ATM machine to get some quick cash. Only on the screen he hallucinates and saw various images appearing. One of which was a quick glimpse of Link from the original Legend of Zelda attacking a Stalfos within a dungeon.

Well this was an interesting nod to the series and I am sure fans would pick up on it immediately. This tells me that at least someone on the set of the show is a fan themselves and has shown their love by adding this little segment into the show. Now it makes me want to look for some other references later on as well.
