Today’s Zelda Fanart Spotlight is on deviantART artist SpoonfishLee’s Majora’s Mask fanart “Skull Kid, Majora’s Mask”. This fanart shows the infamous Skull Kid holding up the Majora’s Mask while staring up at it, wondering what draws him to the mask which is glowing dark with evil. Tael is floating above his friend and the mask trying to get a good look at it himself.

It makes one wonder if these two friends can see the darkness that is practically floating off of the mask and if at times they find themselves wondering if this thing isn’t just a mask and that it is in fact an evil artifact that was never truly meant to enter their lives. If only they had left the Mask Salesman alone like they should have, none of the horrible things that are about to transpire never would have occurred…

I like the feeling of child-like wonder this picture possesses. Just like most kids, the Skull Kid possesses an innocent view of the world and doesn’t think that anything really bad can happen. This view applies to the mask as well. He only thinks of it as being a simple mask; nothing more, nothing less. He’ll find out that he’s horribly wrong though once he puts the mask on.

The artist has other artwork located in their gallery. Please go give it a look and let them know what you thought of this piece! Also please let us know in the comments section below!

Stay tuned for the next Zelda Fanart Spotlight! Until then!
