Zelda Dungeon’s YouTube Crew React to the New Echoes of Wisdom Trailer

Nintendo surprised everyone with a new trailer for Echoes of Wisdom! Naturally, what this trailer did and didn’t confirm is top-of-mind for every fan right now. So, why not join the Zelda Dungeon YouTube team as it treats everyone with its reaction to the “Traversing Hyrule” trailer? Enjoy as Gooey, McKenna, Corey, and Nico chat about the video’s biggest highlights and get hyped with each new reveal!
The crew obviously couldn’t react to the trailer without pointing out how adorable Zelda looks on her horse with a fashionable ponytail. But, the team summarizes what stuck out to them the most. The Bind ability was a major topic, drawing parallels to similar mechanics in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. However, the focus on Bind did leave the gang wanting more details on what other gameplay features players can expect.
Character confirmations were also something long-time fans were craving, and the trailer delivered. From the Gorons to the distinct River and Sea Zora, the overworld looks chock-full of familiar faces alongside some mysterious new inhabitants that keep intrigue building. Nico described the NPC array as a “best of Zelda” cast, which should appeal to new and old fans alike. Gooey and Corey stated it makes the map feel potentially bigger than other 2D worlds we’ve experienced in the series so far, like an extension of what we’ve seen from entries like A Link to the Past. This point shows how much NPCs impact the depth of the playing experience.
McKenna discussed customization options related to cooking and clothing, which is another delightful nod to the open-world games. Overall, the discussion circled the theme that Nintendo is pushing itself to bridge the gap between what Breath of the Wild started and the foundational expectations from the more linear, classic titles.
