Windmill Hut – Piano Medley Duet
Posted on May 29 2013 by ralphpotato
Hey ZeldaDungeon fans! It’s been a little while since the last Windmill Hut, but now that I’m taking over the article, we’ll once again have a Zelda music feature on Wednesdays! Music is probably the most important feature of a video game for me, so I’m excited to share some of the best covers from around the community.
Today we have one of my favorite medleys by famous YouTube pianist, Kyle Landry. Hit the jump to see what’s in store!
Not only does this medley feature Kyle Landry on the piano, but also Frank Tedesco, who is absolutely fantastic in the lower register of the piano.
Here’s how the medley progressed:
Main Theme
Song of Storms
Gerudo Valley Swing
Lost Woods (Saria’s Song)
Main Theme Refrain
Gerudo Valley Swing combines my love of the Gerudo Valley theme with the dance encouraging genre, swing, and is probably my favorite part of this whole medley. Additionally, the smoothness with which each part of the medley flow into each other offers a comfortable listening experience. In fact, if I’dn’t known about the music ahead of time, I might’ve thought this was just a single progressing piece, and not a medley at all.
Another thing that I love about this medley is that it can both be easily listened to in the background and it can capture your attention fully for the five minutes of playing. The piece is both relaxing and exciting in certain ways, and the two feelings are blended together really well.
Kyle Landry is a fantastic pianist and musician, with an absolutely outrageous amount of music on his channel, including some other Zelda tunes and covers! Check out his channel for more, but we will definitely be revisiting his music in the future on Windmill Hut.
