Windmill Hut – Majora’s Mask Piano Medley
Posted on November 06 2013 by ralphpotato
While looking around for some new Zelda music covers to listen to, I stumbled across this epic Majora’s Mask medley. At almost 30 minutes long, it’s probably the single longest medley I’ve ever have the pleasure of listening to, and boy did I enjoy it. Shorter medleys can’t necessarily afford to spend as long on each bit of music, however this one feels full, and definitely has become one of my favorites. It’s a half an hour of piano playing to the amazing tunes in one of the most popular Zelda games, so hit the jump to get started!
Not only is each section more outstanding than most medleys, but the entirety of it is simply superb. I love the richness of it; this piece almost feels more powerful than any other medley that I’ve heard. Additionally, I got to hear a ton of tunes covered that I’d never heard covered before, such as the Astral Observatory theme.
Listening to this medley truly felt like a journey through Majora’s Mask, but in a way that I’d never thought before. Each part of the game has it’s own feeling, especially through the distinct instruments in the original game, however the single style of this medley made me think of the music in a different way.
And that’s what I really love about all of the medleys and covers that exist out on the Internet- the same tune can be expressed in many ways, and that’s what’s tremendous about this community.
