Fairies in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess|Twilight Princess]]'' are not drastically different from other Fairies; they are glowing balls of light that can be stored in bottles to heal Link when he dies. However, they no longer circle around and attempt to heal Link if his hearts are already full. Fairies appear once more in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild|Breath of the Wild]]'', and work in a mostly similar way to previous games. They can be found around [[Great Fairy Fountain]]s in the early morning, and also by cutting grass. However, they will only appear by the [[Great Fairy Fountain]]s if you have 2 or fewer fairies in your inventory. They will automatically revive Link if he falls in battle, leaving him with 5 hearts afterwards. This time, fairies can be used in Cooking, to amplify some dishes which Link can cook, and also can be mixed with monster parts or alone to make a [[Fairy Tonic]].

Fairies can be respawned close to the aforementioned fountains by holding an already captured fairy in Link's hands. They tend to be very shy and elusive, so they should be approached slowly, or by using stealth-enhancing resources like food, elixirs, or wearing the [[Stealth Set]].

In addition, there are timed events involving fairies. The most significant of these is during Week 1, where from 30-40 minutes on the clock, fairies disappear from Fairy Fountains. During the latter half of this period, from 35-40 minutes, all enemy drops become either fairies or blue rupees from a spell taught to the [[Old Man]] in the [[Starting Screen]] cave by the fairies.
