An Arrow is an item that is shot out of Link's Bow. In the original The Legend of Zelda, Link loses one Rupee per arrow shot. In all games since the original, Link has had a maximum capacity. Also, in most games, there are Quiver upgrades to hold more arrows. Arrows are found in enemies, jars, and crates. Many stores sell arrows.

Alternate Types of Arrows

Throughout The Legend of Zelda series, there are multiple different types of Arrows, including Fire, Ice, Light and Silver Arrows.

Fire Arrows

The Fire Arrow is an obtainable item in the first three 3D Zelda games, including Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and The Wind Waker. They also make an appearance in Twilight Princess, however, not as an obtainable item, but rather as a use of attack against Link by Bulblin Archers.

Ocarina of Time

The Fire Arrow from Ocarina of Time

In Ocarina of Time, Link can acquire the Fire Arrows in Lake Hylia, on a small platform near the Water Temple. After completing the Water Temple, Link can shoot an arrow at the rising sun, which results in the Fire Arrows appearing on the platform. They are not required to complete the game, as puzzles created for their use can be completed with Din's Fire or by shooting a regular arrow through a torch that has been lit already.

Majora's Mask

The Fire Arrows in Majora's Mask are very similar to their Ocarina of Time counterpart regarding appearance and use. However, in this game, the Fire Arrows are required to complete the game, as there is no Din's Fire to help out here. They are found in the second dungeon in the game, the Snowhead Temple. Link can open a Treasure Chest to collect them after he has defeated the mini-boss, a Wizzrobe.

The Wind Waker

Fire Arrows make a return in The Wind Waker and are very similar to past appearances. Link can find them in the Mother and Child Isles by using the warping song the Ballad of Gales, which takes him right inside, where a child-like figure who calls herself the Queen of Fairies grants Link Fire and Ice Arrows. Their primary use is to unfreeze the Ice Ring Isle, which is where the Iron Boots are located.

Twilight Princess

The Fire Arrows in Twilight Princess are not an obtainable item, but instead are a form of attack that Bulblin Archers use on Link as their primary form of attack. If Link's Ordon or Wooden Shield is hit with a Fire Arrow, it burns, and Link is forced to purchase a new one.
