Grilled Fish is a quest object from Echoes of Wisdom.
Echoes of Wisdom
When Zelda talks to Anube's mother in Seesyde Village, she will make a grilled fish for her son, beginning the Deliver the Grilled Fish! side quest. To complete the quest, Zelda must take the grilled fish to the woods in the north, where Anube is sleeping on a ledge, past a Monster Camp with three Spear Moblins, who will eat the fish if they come across it. If they do, or the fish is otherwise destroyed or lost, Zelda must return to Anube's mother for a new fish. Once Zelda gets a fish to him, Anube will wake up just long enough to eat it, then immediately go back to sleep. His mother will be appalled at this, but thanks Zelda with ten pieces of Bubble Kelp, and leaves a grilled fish out for her permanently.
Zelda can examine the grilled fish, either before or after the quest is completed, with the Tri Rod to learn the Grilled Fish Echo; which can be used as enemy bait for various monsters and in the Questioning the Local Cats quest. While both of these can be done with a real grilled fish, the fact there is only one which exists in the world - in an out-of-the-way location - makes it impractical.
