Snurglars are a larger variation of the Snurgle from Spirit Tracks.
Appearance
Snurglars are much larger than the average Snurgle, and are also red in color. Like their normal counterparts, Snurglars bear a similar resemblance to the elephant, and are capable of flying with the use of their large ears.
Spirit Tracks
In Spirit Tracks, three Snurglars roam the Fire Realm in possession of three keys. Each key will grant Link access to the Fire Temple. The hero will need to stun these enemies and grab each key in order to infiltrate the Fire Temple. Each Snurglar carries its own separate key, and each one is located in a different part of the Fire Realm. Once Link has grabbed all keys, and completed the Fire Temple, every last Snurglar will disappear and will be replaced by normal Snurgle.
Strategy
Unlike their normal counterparts, Snurglars cannot be defeated. Instead, they can be stunned for a short period of time. Link can use either his Train Whistle, or his Cannon to stun the enemy. If this particular enemy does not have a key in its possession, and the Spirit Train is nearby, it will pursue the train in an attempt to get its key back.
Trivia
- The name Snurglar could most likely derive from the word "burglar".
