Podoboos are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series, based on the enemies from the Mario franchise. They are flame-like creatures that bounce up periodically from certain lava bodies. The best way to deal with them is to time their jumps and avoid them, as they are invulnerable.

Four Swords

Podoboos are an enemy that live in the depths of Death Mountain. They are lava-like creatures with faces that burst out from a pool of lava and try to attack Link. Link cannot harm them in any way, and the only effective manner of dealing with them is avoiding them at all costs - making contact with them will harm Link, but he cannot counter them.

The Minish Cap

Bubbling Lava is an unused enemy found in the game data of The Minish Cap, similar to its Four Swords counterpart, and may be a leftover from the earlier game's code, with the only visible between the two being a thinner flame. Unlike its predecessor, Bubbling Lava has its own smaller version which is also unused, found in the game data. The only key difference between the two is their size.[1]
