March 17, My Nintendo is a rewards program officially launched by Nintendo in 2016 alongside Miitomo, Nintendo's first mobile game. Like its predecessor Club Nintendo, My Nintendo uses reward currency; styled as "Platinum Points" and "Gold Points", represented by silver and gold coin icons. "Platinum Points" are earned through missions on Nintendo's mobile games, or by logging into Nintendo services. Gold Points are earned by making purchases on Nintendo's eShops.
Originally, My Nintendo offered digital game downloads, discounts, and in-game items as rewards. However, in 2018, Nintendo made Gold Points usable as direct payment on Nintendo eShop, with a value of 1% of the original spend per coin.
