Swim Speed Up: Increases speed while swimming

Rapid is a Speed Up effect that is applied to food and elixirs in Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom

Rapid meals are created when Link cooks Splash Fruit in a Cooking Pot as part of a meal (with no conflicting effects). There is no "Rapid Elixir"

Rapid meals & elixirs give Link the Swim Speed Up effect, temporarily increasing his movement rate in water.

Effect Points

Main article: Cooking in Tears of the Kingdom

Effects in Tears of the Kingdom come in tiers. However, while technically a number of hidden points determine how strong the effect is, and thus how much it speeds Link's swim speed up, in practice it is impossible to add enough Splash Fruit to a meal to raise the effect above "low-level", as each Splash Fruit only gives one effect point, and a minimum of six are required to upgrade even to "mid-level". Given that there are no other Rapid ingredients, it is impossible to upgrade it through effect points.

As such, the only way to create a "Rapid" meal of more than "low-level" is to engineer a critical success. This occasionally happens randomly, but can deliberately be triggered by using a Golden Apple, Star Fragment or dragon part as one of the ingredients, or by cooking under a Blood Moon. This will randomly improve either the number of hearts recovered by the meal, the duration, or the effect level.
