Below is a listing of terms common to The Legend of Zelda series. This includes terms that are unique to only the Zelda series, as well as other common terms that are recurring throughout the series.

B

  • Baba - a term used to denote plant-like enemies or objects that have bulb features, and usually have tongues. This includes enemies such as Deku Babas or Boko Babas, as well as objects such as Boko Bulbs, and bosses including Diababa.
  • Blin - a common suffix used to denote many enemies that have goblin-like features, including Moblins, Bokoblins, Miniblins, and Bulblins.
  • Boko - a common prefix used to denote wood-based objects, weapons, and enemies. It was first used in The Wind Waker to describe enemies and objects such as Boko Babas, Boko Sticks, and enemy Bokoblins, but has since been more abundantly used in later games, including Breath of the Wild.

  • Mol - a common affix used to denote many enemies and items that have the ability to dig and burrow underground, including Lanmolas, Moldugas, Molgera, and Moldarach.
  • Mos - a common suffix used to denote enemies who are stone statues or machines that come to life. This includes Armos and Beamos.
