The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is an upcoming The Legend of Zelda series title for the Nintendo Switch, and the first Nintendo-developed game to star Princess Zelda as the main, playable character. It is a 2D, top-down adventure in the same style as the 2019 remake of Link's Awakening.
Story
Link defeats Ganon, who has Princess Zelda trapped in a crystal. However, before Link can celebrate his victory, a strange rift opens in the room where Ganon's trident fell, and he barely cracks Zelda's crystal with an arrow before vanishing into it. Zelda escapes the broken crystal, but barely makes it out of Ganon's castle before the rift covers it. With similar rifts appearing all over Hyrule, she must team up with the "mysterious fairy" Tri, and use the Tri Rod the fairy gives her, with its power to create "echoes" of objects and monsters, to try and save her kingdom and Link.
