Objective

Hunt as many Deer in 60-seconds

Rewards

Deer Hunting is a mini-game located in Hateno Village in Breath of the Wild. It is run by Dantz, who works on a farm, but is concerned about the over-population of Deer in the nearby Retsam Forest.[1] He will ask Link to help hunt some of the deer. Link will appear in the Retsam Forest and will have 60-seconds to hunt as many deer as he can. Dantz will give Link a hint to use a strong Bow so that he can take down a deer with one Arrow.[2]

While the mini-game is completely free to play, Link will need to use his own inventory of weapons, including his own Arrows to hunt the deer. There are 10 deer in total and Dantz will reward Link with rupees, depending on how many deer he can hunt in a 60-second period of time. Even after finishing the hunt, Dantz will ask Link if he wants to try it again.[3] Regardless of how many deer Link previously hunted, all 10 of the deer will have reappeared. Thus, this mini-game is an excellent way to quickly defeat deer and get some Raw Prime Meat.

  1. Woo-hoo! I had a lucky feeling you were the answer to my prayers! So what I need is for you to hunt some deer out in Retsam Forest. They're overpopulated these days, and it's destroying the forest. That's why I was hoping you could hunt all the deer you can...in one minute. - Dantz
  2. A trick? Well, I guess it helps to have a strong bow to take 'em down with one shot. And of course, you want to get close enough to the deer to line up your shot without them noticing you. - Dantz
  3. The thing with these deer, though... We really have to get their numbers under control. Hey, wanderer, can I ask you to go again? - Dantz
