Horse Gear is the equippable horse items from Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, primarily consisting of a saddle and bridle.
Breath of the Wild
All registered horses wear a set of horse gear, with a "locally made saddle and bridle" provided as part of the cost of registering the horse at a Stable. The Giant Horse has a variation on the locally made gear, and cannot wear any of the other sets. Link can change what the horse is wearing by talking to the stable hand, usually found attending to the stabled horses.
Most horse gear is purely cosmetic, with no effect on the horse. The exception is the Expansion Pass-exclusive Ancient horse gear; the Ancient Saddle allows Link to warp the horse to himself through most of Hyrule with a whistle; while the Ancient Bridle gives two extra spurs of stamina to the horse wearing it.

Horse gear works largely as it does in Breath of the Wild, but the Ancient horse gear is not available for use. The "locally made" set is now formally named as the Stable Bridle and Saddle. Link can now change them by talking to the stable owner, and is given the chance to change them whenever taking a horse out. Much of the horse gear is now earned by collecting Pony Points on his Stable Association loyalty card.
The one new piece is the Towing Harness, which uses a saddle slot, and has a trailing metal bar which allows Link to attach wagons to the horse with Ultrahand. While Bokoblins occasionally use these as well, their towing harness is discarded on registering the horse, and Link must obtain his own by earning three Pony Points at the stables to use one on a registered horse.
