NOTE TO OTHER PLAYERS: You may be tempted to leave and run across the entire map looking for a way to evaporate water, like I did, to unlock the blue button. you do not need to do this. Echoes are not the answer. I have no walkthrough experience so I'm just putting this here as a comment.
