Acorn Gathering is a mini-game from Echoes of Wisdom.
Echoes of Wisdom
Acorn Gathering can be found on the western side of Hyrule Field north of Gerudo Town, on the northern side of Hyrule Field at the Northern Sanctuary, and in Zora River to the right of Lord Jabu-Jabu's Den. Zelda can try it out for 10 rupees by talking to one of the men with acorn-like hats. The objective is to gather acorns in the area before the goal time. Some acorns are on higher elevations, which require Echoes such as Tables and Old Beds to reach. The prize for gathering all acorns before the goal time is 20 rupees. After gathering all acorns before 40 seconds if the goal time is 1 minute or 25 seconds if the goal time is 40 seconds, Zelda is rewarded with a special one-time bonus, which can include a Steel Trap, Golden Egg, and 100 rupees. After Zelda does this again, she receives a Riverhorse, Radiant Butter, or Rock Salt. Which one of those Zelda gets depends on the place.
