Nintendo Cereal System is a collectible released in 1988 to help promote The Legend of Zelda and later The Adventure of Link.

Notes

  • Released to help promote Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, and Nintendo Power Magazine.
  • The cereal had two different packets in each box, with a fruit flavored Super Mario Bros. and a berry fruit flavored Zelda cereal.
  • The cereal was advertised as being Fortified with 9 Essential Vitamins and Minerals.
  • There were eight different box iterations of the cereal, with different art on the front cover.
  • Initial releases were promoting The Legend of Zelda, but later cereal boxes were used to promote The Adventure of Link.
  • Some of the cereal boxes came with a Nintendo Cereal System Zelda Mini Pinball game, featuring Link. Other versions came with Nintendo Power Cards, some of which featured characters and enemies from The Legend of Zelda. Some cereal boxes came with an Iron-On Transfer Patch.
  • While the cereal was released as early as 1988, it was advertised in the 4th issue of Nintendo Power, with a release of April 1989. It was later advertised in the 12th Issue of the Magazine as well.
