The Smith Secret is a Secret from Oracle of Ages used within Oracle of Seasons. Link will first need to complete Oracle of Seasons and start a Linked Game record of Oracle of Ages.
Learn the Secret
The Smith Secret can first be learned after Link's journey through the fifth dungeon, Crown Dungeon. In the past, make your way to the Mystery Tree on the east side of Rolling Ridge to find a green Subrosian, who will ask you to tell a secret to the master of the Subrosian Smithy.[1]
Tell the Secret
Return to the Oracle of Seasons game and head over to the Smithy in Subrosia. The Smithy is located six screens west of the entrance to the Temple of Seasons. The Master Smith will ask if Link knows the secret to forge his shield[2]; input it to receive the upgrade.
Reward
If Link has the L-1 Wooden Shield, he will obtain the L-2 Iron Shield. If he has already upgraded to the L-2 Iron Shield, Link will receive the L-3 Mirror Shield. The smith will give Link a password that he can take back to Labrynna in Oracle of Ages. After Link tells the secret to Farore within Labrynna's Maku Tree, he will get the shield upgrade.
