The Royal Guard Uniform is a chest-piece found in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity, and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

"The dignified uniform for Hyrule's Royal Guard. It's made of lightweight materials and is both stylish and practical. It's a rather rare find."

A Royal Guard Uniform has a base defense of 4, and was released as a part of the second DLC expansion for the game: 'The Champions' Ballad'.

Location

This piece of armor can be found inside Hyrule Castle, in a small room close to the Dining Hall. Be sure to check our Breath of the Wild Interactive Map for a more precise location.

After Link has obtained this item for the first time, he will be able to purchase it from Granté in Tarrey Town for 50 Rupees.

Armor Set

The Royal Guard Set (also including the Royal Guard Cap and the Royal Guard Boots) when equipped decreases the amount of stamina used from a charge attack. This set is not enhanceable and cannot be dyed.

Despite the description saying it only reduces the usage for charge attacks, the set bonus also reduces swim dash stamina usage and climbing stamina usage when jumping.

Tears of the Kingdom

The Royal Guard Uniform acts similarly to how it did in Breath of the Wild, however it is now enhanceable by the Great Fairies, meaning its set bonus only activates if all pieces of the set are upgraded at least twice.

Location

This piece of armor can be found in the ground-level section of Hyrule Castle, in the Guards' Chamber.

Armor Set

The Royal Guard Set (also including the Royal Guard Cap and the Royal Guard Boots) when all pieces are upgraded twice and equipped decreases the amount of stamina used from a charge attack.

Unlike in Breath of the Wild, the set bonus correctly only reduces stamina usage for charge attacks.

Enhance Path

Enhancing Armor requires that Link has unlocked as many Great Fairy Fountains as the desired star-level.
