Link's Uncle will give him the family-owned Fighter's Sword when he encounters him in Hyrule Castle. This Sword is lightweight and short."
The Fighter's Sword is an item in A Link to the Past. It is the first obtainable sword in the game. It is given to Link as his Uncle dies in the basement of Hyrule Castle. The Fighter's Sword is Link's primary weapon until he collects all three Pendants of Virtue, at which point the blade is replaced with the legendary Master Sword.
