The Postmaster,[1][10][11] also known as the Postmistress in Majora's Mask,[2] is the title of a character that appears in Majora's Mask, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks. The Postmaster is a part of the postal service, and is one rank higher than the Postman, thus making the Postmaster the Postman's boss.
Majora's Mask
- Main article: Madame Aroma
Madame Aroma serves as the Postmaster in Majora's Mask. She is referred to as both the Postmistress and Postmaster by the Postman.[1][2] It is unknown what her exact duties are as the Postmaster; however, she does seem to have some control over the Postman, as when the Postman doesn't want to neglect his schedule and flee,[12] Aroma orders him to flee,[13] relieving the Postman of his duties.[14] The Postman obliges,[15] giving Link the Postman's Hat.[16]
Phantom Hourglass
The Postmaster from Phantom Hourglass is never seen in-game. However, the Postmaster does send Link a letter;[17] in fact, it's the very first letter he receives. This letter can be received after Link has purchased the Cannon from Eddo.[18] The letter mainly consists of the Postmaster telling Link how diligent and efficient the new Postman is, asking Link to be nice to the Postman.[10][19] The Postmaster is never seen or heard from again.
Spirit Tracks
The Postmaster serves almost the exact same role in Spirit Tracks as he did in Phantom Hourglass. The Postmaster in Spirit Tracks sends Link his first letter,[4] which tells Link that the new Postman is as hardworking and efficient as they come, urging Link to be nice to the Postman.[11] This letter is received from the Postman in Castle Town.[20] The Postmaster is never seen or heard from again.
Trivia
- According to the Prima Games Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks guides, the Postmaster is male.[3][4] However, the Postmaster's gender is not revealed in-game.
