Great Fairy Fountain
A Great Fairy Fountain is a reccuring location found in seven Zelda titles. They are places where Link can encounter a Great Fairy who can replenish his health and give him upgrades to certain items or even magic.
Appearances
A Link to the Past
In A Link to the Past, the fountains are scattered across Hyrule in various caves. They restore Link's health. There are also special fountains called Mysterious Ponds where Link can get upgrades for weapons such as the Golden Sword or Magical Boomerang.
Ocarina of Time
The first fountan encountered in Ocarina of Time is on the summit of Death Mountain as a child right after Link defeats the monster King Dodongo in Dodongo's Cavern. Link must play the Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce marked pedestal in order to make the Great Fairy appear. If it's his first visit she'll grant him a new power. If it's a re-visit she'll replenish his health and Magic Meter
Locations
- Death Mountain - Must climb the mountain.
- Death Mountain Crater - As an adult Link must destroy rocks blocking the path.
- Hyrule Castle - On the road to the castle as a child Link must blow up a boulder blocking the path.
- Zora's Fountain - In the far eastern corner
- Desert Colossus - Blow up teh crack inbetween two palm trees.
- Ganon's Tower - Link must acquire the Golden Gauntlets in order to lift the heavy object blocking the path.
Trivia

There are hidden fountains in the game where there is no Great Fairy but only small ones that can be caught in a bottle and save Link from death if the Song of Storms is played.
Majora's Mask
In Majora's Mask, [[Link must find Stray Fairies in order to summon the Great Fairy (Who are identical to the ones in Ocarina of Time). With the exception of the fairy in Clock Town who only had lost 2 Stray Fairies because of the Skull Kid. The benefits are much like the ones in Ocarina of Time, Link can get a new power on his first visit and a health & Magic Meter replenishment on his re-visits.

- North Clock Town
- Woodfall - As a Deku Scrub Link must fly to the cave on the far side of the temple.
- Snowhead - Is located right under the Snowhead Temple
- Zora Hall Coast - Link must jump across platforms in order to reach her cave.
- Ikana Canyon - Is located right next tot he entrance to Stone Tower.
The Wind Waker
The fountains are scattered throughout the Great Sea (Exception being the fairy on Outset Island who is beneath a boulder). They are usually located in Sea-shell like houses and grant Link upgrades to various items but instead of restoring his health and Magic Meter they leave behind lots of normal Fairies that can be caught in a bottle or just used as a replenishment to health and Magic.

Link can encounter the Queen of Fairies by using the Ballad of Gales in order to warp to her island and get an upgrade of fire and ice to his Arrows.
Four Swords Adventures
Link can find the Great Fairies in caverns, They give upgrades to his equipment.
The Minish Cap
There are three Great Fairies that give Link different brain teaser to solve, If he succeeds he'll be given an upgrade to a specific item from. If Link fails on a question that two of the Fairies ask the Fairy will either take all of his Bombs or Arrows depending on which one it is.

- Great Butterfly Fairy - Nort Eastern Minish Woods, Only accesible from EAstern hills with the Cane of Pacci.
- Great Dragonfly Fairy - Small cave in the Royal Valley.
- Great Mayfly Fairy - In a cave on Mount Crenel.
Twilight Princess
In this game the fountains are not scattered across Hyrule in secret caves as usual but are rather hidden in one big secret cave called the Cave of Ordeals where there are 50 floors filled with various different enemies that Link must fight his way through. Every time he reached the 10th, 20th, 30th and 40th floors he'll encounter a Great Fairy and will cause Fairies to appear in different Light Springs. Once he reaches the 50th floor (If he has an empty Bottle he'll get a bottle of Great Fairy's Tears which will grant temporary increase in strength and replenish all of his health.
