"This low-level gel monster is engulfed in electricity. Its strength varies depending on its size. It tends to explode if attacked from close range, so the use of spears, arrows, and other ranged weapons is advised."
Electric Chuchus are enemies which appear in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity and Tears of the Kingdom.. They are an electrical elemental variant of the standard Chuchu.
Breath of the Wild
They appear most abundantly in the Wasteland Tower region, within the Gerudo Canyon, just north and northwest of the Wasteland Tower. They also appear in the Lake Tower and Faron Tower regions of Faron province, particularly in the Damel Forest and the area just south of the Ubota Point.
Electric Chuchu come in three different sizes with varying health meters. The smallest enemies have a health of 3 HP, the medium Chuchu has a health of 20 HP, with the large ones having 48 HP.
As their name suggests, they carry an electric charge that can shock Link if they come into contact. The Electric Chuchu will lunge towards Link, releasing an electric shock attack. If Link is carrying any metal equipment, damage done by the electric shock will be amplified. Furthermore, any metal weapons will drop to the floor.
After the lunge attack, there is a short cooldown period where Link can get an attack in. Alternatively, Link can use projectile weapons, such as arrows to safely defeat these enemies. Each time an Electric Chuchu is defeated, it will release Yellow Chuchu Jelly as a reward.
Age of Calamity
Electric Chuchu first appear in the Mipha, the Zora Princess scenario. These weak enemies can be taken out with a single hit. When they are attacked, they will bloat up and explode, sending out an electric shock, damaging the warrior if its nearby. They will occasionally drop Yellow Chuchu Jelly as a reward when defeated. After each Electric Chuchu is defeated, the player will receive a Chuchu Trophy, which can be used to complete quests or upgrade weapons of the various warriors.
