"Central Hyrule is made up of a broad plain whose eastern border roughly follows the Hylia River from north to south. Hyrule Castle and its castle town occupy its northern border. It stretches as far west as Satori Mountain, where the land drops into a precipitous gorge. The Great Plateau, home of the Shrine of Resurrection, where Link slept for one hundred years, is in the southern reaches. Hyrule Castle and the ruins of Hyrule Castle Town are patrolled by numerous Guardians to this day, making them extremly dangerous and keeping adventurous travelers at bay. Beyond Hyrule Castle to the north is the Great Hyrule Forest, where beautiful cherry trees blossom, but travelers should be wary, within the forest are the Lost Woods, where people tend to lose their way..."

Central Hyrule is a province of Hyrule in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Central Hyrule covers a vast swathe of the map, from the Deplian Badlands in the north to Lake Hylia in the south, and from Tanagar Canyon in the west to Pico Pond in the east.

Other areas of major significance within include Hyrule Castle, Hyrule Field, the Great Plateau and Hyrule Ridge.

Its neighboring provinces are Hebra to the northwest, Gerudo to the southwest, Faron to the south, Necluda to the southeast, Lanayru to the east, and Eldin to the northeast. Akkala is the only province to not share a border with Central Hyrule.

In Tears of the Kingdom, Central Hyrule contains many of the same areas in the middle of the map, including Hyrule Field, Hyrule Castle and Hyrule Castle Town Ruins. One new area is Lookout Landing, where Purah and her research group are located.
