Hylian Shield

Hylian-shield.png
Main article: Hylian Shield

The Hylian Shield has a base Shield Guard of 90 and durability of 800, making it easily the most durable shield in the game.

Found in a large room in the Hyrule Castle Lockup, it has 90 defense rating and 800 durability and looks exactly how you'd expect it to. The room it is found in contains a Stalnox which must be defeated before a chest appears with the shield inside. There is a Stone slab in the room stating that this was a test room for the Royal Guard, meaning a Hinox would need to be defeated in single combat for one to be indoctrinated into the Royal Guard.[1] If the shield breaks, Link can go to Tarrey Town to get a new one if the side quest From the Ground Up has been completed.

"A shield passes down through the Hylian royal family, along with the legend of the hero who wielded it. Its defensive capabilities and durability outshine all other shields."
