Bones are objects from Twilight Princess, and items from Zelda's Adventure and Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland.
Twilight Princess
"Do you like dogs? They're cute, huh? If you throw a bone or something, they'll bring it back, you know? You should play with one if you have some free time."

Bones can be found lying around Castle Town, outside the Medical Clinic and near the STAR Tent. If Link catches a dog's attention while carrying one and throws it, they will chase it and bring it back to him.
