CiaoCiao is a character from Link's Awakening. She is a Chain Chomp that belongs to Madam MeowMeow. She also plays a role in the Trading Sequence.
Link's Awakening
CiaoCiao can be found in the right room of Madam MeowMeow's House. Unlike BowWow and ChowChow, she is seemingly capable of completely normal speech. As she tells Link, she enjoys make-up, jewels, dresses, and would love some new accessories.[1] When Link presents the Ribbon from Mamasha, she says that she needs it and asks to trade it for her Dog Food.[2] If he refuses, she gets upset and calls him "the worst".[3] However, if he accepts, she gives him the promised Dog Food and can be seen wearing the ribbon from then on.
In the Nintendo Switch remake, a figure of CiaoCiao can be won from the Trendy Game.[4] It can be displayed on the table in Madam MeowMeow's House. The description reads that like the real thing, the figure requires a lot of love and patience.[5]
