Armogohma is the boss of the sixth dungeon in Twilight Princess, the Temple of Time.[1] It was likely a Baby Gohma or Young Gohma that touched a Mirror Shard.
Appearance
Armogohma is a large, hairy spider with stone armor and a huge, orange eye inside its thorax. It is the most realistic variation of Gohma, bearing significant resemblance to real-life spiders, especially wolf spiders.
Battle
The fight against Armogohma has two phases.
Stage 1
When Link enters the room, it is pitch black aside from a light shining down from the ceiling, which he approaches. It then goes dark for a moment, and he turns to see that there are three more lights, all of which shine down next to a corresponding statue. Link spots the source of the temporary darkness staring back at him from the middle of the ceiling. Armogohma skitters away, and the fight begins.
Armogohma can be located by her shadow when she stands under one of the four lights. When she stops under one of them and opens her eye, Link is given a chance to shoot it with an arrow and cause her to fall to the floor. Since the lights all correspond to a statue, he can then control the nearest one with the Dominion Rod and force its fist down upon the spider.
After being hit once, Armogohma will crawl back up to the ceiling and lay a bunch of Baby Gohma eggs, which quickly hatch and swarm after Link. They are easily defeated in wolf form or with a sword. Armogohma also begins cycles of its second attack, a jet of flame from her eye. Whenever she uses this attack, her eye has to be open, so it serves as an opportunity to knock her down. The fire can be blocked by the Hylian Shield.
Stage 2
After three fist smashes from the statues, Armogohma will curl in on herself and explode. Link belives the fight is over until, to his horror, numerous baby gohma eggs appear and hatch, carrying Armogohma's eye away. In this stage, it can be destroyed by using one of the statues again, but other means like using a sword, bow, or Link's wolf form will also work. After defeating Armogohma, Link will be rewarded with a Heart Container and the third Mirror Shard.
