Cotton-Candy Hunt is a Side Quest in Echoes of Wisdom.

Overview

After completing A Rift in the Faron Wetlands, make your way to the northwest part of Scrubton where there is a Deku Scrub who is looking for some Cotton Candy. Speak to him to begin the quest. This leads Zelda to reach the Hidden Ruins and eventually do battle with Smog.

Requirements

Walkthrough

  • After clear the Faron Temple, return to Scrubton and speak to a Deku Scrub at the northwest part of town.
  • The Deku Scrub heard a voice coming out of the building found just south of Scrubton.
  • Travel south and you'll find two torches on tall pillars with a pair of Drippitunes in the area. Defeat the Drippitunes to get it to stop raining.
  • Zelda will need to light the two torches. She can do so by using a Fire Wizzrobe Echoe. Alternatively, Zelda can use Water Block Echoes and then an Ignizol to light the torches. Head down the steps to enter the Hidden Ruins.
  • In the next several rooms, Zelda will need to either use the existing Sparks in the room to light the box, or us the Spark Echo to light the box. In the first room a pair of Sparks will cause the door to open.
  • In the second room, Zelda will first need to burn the webs and then charge the box to open the door.
  • In the third room, Zelda can move the Boulder with Bind to get the Sparks to reach the block. The Spark at the top-right can be reached by first activating the Armos, which will cause the spark to rotate around it, and then attach to the wall.
  • In the underground area, using Platbooms makes navigating the first area easier. The second area, there is also a yellow block with some sparks. Zelda can place some Wooden Boxes in the water to guide the sparks to the box. After moving objects around, the sparks will eventually reach the yellow block, opening the adjacent door.
  • Here Zelda will do battle with Smog. The fight is identical to the one before, but this time taking place in a side-scrolling area. Zelda will once again need to merge the different parts of Smog together. Once it is in its large form, Zelda can use projectiles such as Arrows in her Swordfighter Form, or from Spear Moblins. To get the pieces of Smog to connect, Zelda can strike them to get them to stop, or use Echoes to guide them. If Zelda drops an Old Bed on top of part of Smog, it will drop to the lower levels.
  • Repeat this process until Smog has been defeated. Grab the Piece of Heart that is left behind.
  • Return to Scrubton and speak with the Deku Scrub. He initially doesn't believe you, but rewards Zelda by upgrade the Ancient Charm to the Curious Charm.
