This is a list of items found on the Key Items pause menu page in Breath of the Wild.
General
Sheikah Slate
- Main article: Sheikah Slate
The Sheikah Slate is one the first item Link comes across after waking in the Shrine of Resurrection and is one of his most powerful tools.
With the Sheikah Slate, Link is able to activate Sheikah technology, most notably the Sheikah Towers and the Shrines of Trials, enabling them as travel points across Hyrule. It also has many built-in tools, such as control of Runes, a map of Hyrule, the Hyrule Compendium, and the scope. The runes replace some separate items from previous games, and include:
- Remote Bomb: A bomb that can be detonated remotely.
- Magnesis: Manipulate metallic objects using magnetism.
- Stasis: Stop the flow of time for an object.
- Cryonis: Create a pillar of ice from a water surface.
- Camera: Instantly render a visible image into a picture.
Aside from its usefulness, Link's possession of the Sheikah Slate is also seen as a sign by many of the long-lived residents of Hyrule that Link is, if not the Champion himself, then a descendant of the Champion, and, as such, should be helped. His use of Sheikah technology often convinces others to assist Link with his quest to defeat Calamity Ganon.
"A mysterious tablet with a glowing center. You've never seen this device before, and yet...there's something familiar about it."
Paraglider
- Main article: Paraglider
The Paraglider is gifted to Link by the spirit of King Rhoam after he has completed all four primary Shrine of Trials and obtained their Runes in the Great Plateau. It allows Link to exit the Great Plateau alive, and explore what remains of the Kingdom of Hyrule. It can be used to glide over large gaps or to break falls.

Hestu's Maracas
- Main article: Hestu's Maracas
Hestu's Maracas are required to upgrade Link's weapon, bow and shield carrying capacity. They can be found in a chest guarded by some Bokoblins on the pathway up to Kakariko Village. Once returned to Hestu, he will allow Link to upgrade two of his inventory stashes in return for Korok Seeds to use in the maracas, before heading onward toward his home in the Korok Forest. If Link subsequently finds him there, or on the way, he can have him do further upgrades for more seeds.
